Most of us know that people purchase pets, but we forget that it has been a long exercise for men to also "purchase" brides. The rising tendency among Singaporean and Malaysian guys are Vietnamese women nowadays.

Some apparently rely on the myth that Vietnamese women have a very mystical tribal lust that makes them room dynamos. Most of the guys who seek to purchase Vietnamese wives expect their wives to act like geishas.

In Singapore, a teenage virgin Vietnamese bride are available on-the-position for RM25,000. Many of these men visited the matchmaking agency to select a bride along with their mothers.

Worse, the girls were designed to go to a hospital to get a "certificate of fitness" prior to the transaction is completed verifying their virginity.

Well, some reports claim that it's possible to purchase a virgin Vietnamese bride for less than RM10,000. I imagine the quality of the "product" can be a key aspect in the purchase price difference.

The man, who acquired his Vietnamese partner for RM13 demanded a refund because he complained, among other things, as she may only speak Vietnamese he could not communicate with her. It just learned that she wasn't multilingual 17 days after their wedding and wasn't documented, however, why did not he understand this before purchasing her. I read that some matchmaking companies provide a "test period" where if the client isn't satisfied with his wife, an alternative cant be fixed, minus a small "administrative fee".

Anyway, returning for the original story, the matchmaking agency wasn't pleased with the person's antics as they don't operate just like a retail store with a money back guarantee policy. On hindsight, he needs to have purchased his partner together with his bank card, then he'd be able to declare a charge back for "faulty goods".

It's unknown if, in future, "hire purchase" terms or "installation plans" could be organized with matchmaking companies to purchase women making them less expensive to the people.

However, inspite of the value and social stigma attached with buying a Vietnamese partner, for some men, they think that in the long-run this will prove to be more cost effective when compared with marrying an area woman.
